Wishing Mr. Udayan Dutt greater responsibilities and exciting challenges in this impressive new chapter!
A new chapter begins for seasoned HR leader Udayan Dutt, who is all set to take over as President Group Human Resources at RPG Enterprises starting June 2, 2025. This transition follows a rich, impactful journey spanning over nine years at a leading multinational where he last held the title of Vice President Human Resources overseeing global finance, IT, digitisation, legal, and transformation functions.
An alumnus of Delhi University, Dutt also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations from XLRI Jamshedpur. His career has been a masterclass in growth and transformation, beginning humbly as an executive trainee at DCM Shriram, followed by a management trainee HR role at a major telecom company in 1999.
The year 2000 saw him stepping into the tech sector as associate HR remuneration with Sasken Communication Technologies. His next significant move was into the consulting domain, working with a reputed HR consultancy from 2001 to 2006 in C&B consulting and outsourcing.
Dutt’s journey soared when he joined a global FMCG giant in 2006 as General Manager Reward for South Asia. After over five years in that role, he rose to become Director Human Resources and Corporate Affairs in Sri Lanka, driving talent acquisition, leadership development, and overall HR strategy. Another promotion in 2014 elevated him to HR Director Marketing South Asia.
In 2016, he embraced a new opportunity with a prominent global consumer health company, starting as Regional HR Director South Asia, later overseeing Africa Middle East and South Asia, and finally steering the global HR agenda as Global Functions HR Director and subsequently as VP HR for core global functions.
As he now prepares to join RPG Enterprises, Dutt expressed his excitement by stating he looks forward to “championing the Group’s people first culture, where happiness stands as a core value alongside unleash talent, touch lives, and outperform—creating a truly unique and empowering environment.”
From building careers to shaping cultures, Udayan Dutt’s journey reflects a rare blend of humility, wisdom, and relentless passion for human capital.
