SAP India Embraces AI for Business Transformation

According to SAP, Europe’s largest software company, Transitioning from the excitement surrounding AI to its tangible effects, Indian companies are increasingly adopting AI solutions in their operations, with 2025 anticipated to be a year marked by significant AI results.

An analysis of SAP’s Indian customers over a year, from March 2024 to March 2025, highlights that the leading AI applications in India encompass AI-generated visual insights, summaries, translations, AI-assisted process analysis, and the generation of sales orders from unstructured data. Additionally, predictive forecasting and natural language queries have gained traction. 

During the SAP NOW AI Tour event in Mumbai, SAP India presented new findings that shed light on how Indian enterprises are leveraging artificial intelligence. 

“In any organisation, it is the profound insights derived from data that fuel mission-critical operations across finance, procurement, supply chain, workforce and beyond,” Manish Prasad, President and Managing Director, SAP Indian Subcontinent said.

The firm stated that it is equipping its clients to transform into intelligent, optimized organizations by integrating AI agents throughout their business processes. 

“We are redefining how individuals work and changing the way businesses are run…,” he said.

India plays a crucial role in SAP’s global ambition of achieving 400 embedded AI use cases across its offerings, building on over 210 generative AI applications currently available, as noted in a company announcement. 

SAP Labs India, the company’s second-largest R&D center outside of Germany, significantly contributes to the development of SAP’s AI co-pilot, Joule. Furthermore, the recent introduction of SAP Business Cloud has unveiled new data and AI advancements, enabling businesses to progress beyond basic automation, tackle intricate business challenges, and enhance efficiency, agility, and innovation across the enterprise.
