Sanofi India’s Rodolfo Hrosz to Step Down as MD

A chapter draws to a graceful close at Sanofi India as Rodolfo Hrosz, the company’s Managing Director, prepares to step away from his current role by the end of April 2025. In an official filing, the board acknowledged his resignation, which was accepted during a meeting held on April 9. His departure from the post becomes effective after business hours on April 30, 2025.

While stepping down from his current responsibilities, including his roles as a key managerial figure, senior executive, and board committee member, Hrosz isn’t parting ways with Sanofi altogether. The multinational healthcare leader has proposed his continuation as part of the organization in a fresh capacity.

Beginning May 1, 2025, Rodolfo Hrosz will take on the role of an additional non-executive director on Sanofi India’s board—subject to shareholder approval. This decision, taken on the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, aims to retain Hrosz’s expertise and strategic insight within the company’s framework even as he transitions into a broader role within the global Sanofi network.

“His meaningful contributions over the years have strengthened our foundation and vision,” the board expressed, acknowledging his pivotal role in Sanofi India’s journey.

The Mumbai-headquartered pharmaceutical giant also confirmed that a new managing director will be appointed in due course, though no successor has been announced yet. The company chose not to disclose specific details about Hrosz’s next global assignment within the Sanofi Group.

Meanwhile, shares of Sanofi India closed 1.7% lower, at ₹6,080.10 on Wednesday, following the leadership change announcement.

As Sanofi India moves forward, guided by its commitment to innovation and excellence, the leadership transition represents both continuity and evolution—keeping the essence of its legacy intact while opening doors to new possibilities.
