Nothing, the London-based technology company, has appointed its Co-founder, Akis Evangelidis, as the new President of India. In this role, Evangelidis will steer the company’s growth and strategic direction in one of its most vital markets.
India has played a central role in Nothing’s success. According to Counterpoint’s Q4 2024 India Smartphone Tracker, Nothing was the fastest-growing smartphone brand in India last year, with a remarkable year-on-year growth of +577%. This surge was driven by strong demand for the Phone (2a) Series and its sub-brand, CMF by Nothing.
With this appointment, Nothing aims to further strengthen its foothold in India and push for even greater expansion. Evangelidis highlighted the importance of India to the company’s future, stating, “India is one of the most significant markets for Nothing, and we see an enormous opportunity to become a leading consumer tech brand. I’m looking forward to assuming this role and to further bringing innovative, design-driven technology to Indian consumers.”
As part of Nothing’s strategy, Evangelidis emphasized the company’s commitment to the ‘Make in India’ initiative. He also shared plans for boosting local production, with a goal to expand their offline retail presence to over 12,000 stores by 2025.
This move marks a pivotal moment for Nothing as it continues to grow its competitive position in India’s smartphone market, with Evangelidis at the helm of its next phase of expansion.
