Nvidia and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) are set to invest a combined $4 billion in Meta as the social media and technology company accelerates its artificial intelligence infrastructure expansion through a planned $95 billion fundraising initiative.

On Monday, Meta announced plans to raise an initial $35 billion through underwritten public equity offerings, followed by another $60 billion through an at-the-market offering programme.

As part of the investment, Nvidia confirmed on Tuesday that it would purchase $3 billion worth of Meta shares, while AMD announced an investment of $1 billion. Meta had earlier indicated that Nvidia, AMD and Broadcom were interested in purchasing up to $5 billion in shares.

Alongside its investment, Nvidia said Meta would expand the deployment of its Vera Rubin and Vera CPU platforms. Both companies also plan to deepen their collaboration on Muse, Meta’s AI agent launched last month.

“AI agents represent a new computing paradigm — software that understands our goals, reasons, uses tools and gets work done on our behalf,” said Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang in a statement. “This changes how we use computers, from operating applications to working with intelligent agents.”

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg also welcomed the expanded partnership, stating, “We’re excited to keep working with NVIDIA to deliver the best personal agents and frontier models for billions of people.”

AMD also highlighted its growing technology partnership with Meta, noting that its Helios racks are already operational at Meta, while its EPYC processors are powering the company’s Muse platform.

“Together, we are building and deploying infrastructure at gigawatt scale and shaping future generations of silicon, software and systems to enable Meta’s most ambitious superintelligence models and services,” AMD CEO Lisa Su said in a statement.

Following the announcements on Tuesday, AMD shares gained 3%, while Nvidia’s stock remained unchanged. Meta shares declined 1%.

Both chipmakers have been increasing their investments in companies contributing to the AI ecosystem. Nvidia has invested in OpenAI, Anthropic, Intel and xAI. According to Dealroom, it has participated in 121 investment rounds so far in 2026, compared with just 13 in 2022.

AMD has also expanded its investment activity. In July, the company announced plans to make an equity investment of up to $5 billion in Anthropic. Its participation in funding rounds has increased to 25 in 2026, compared with just 2 in 2022.

The latest investments highlight the growing financial and technology partnerships between semiconductor companies and major technology firms as demand for AI infrastructure continues to expand.
