Motorola’s entry into the wide-folding smartphone market is drawing closer, with a new Geekbench listing revealing key details about its upcoming foldable. The device, previously rumoured to be called the “Motorola Razr Flex”, has appeared on the benchmarking platform under the name Motorola Razr Flex 27.
The listing identifies the chipset as QTI SM8845, which corresponds to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor. The chip reportedly features 6 efficiency cores clocked at 3.4GHz and 2 performance cores reaching 3.8GHz.
The tested handset appears to have 10.96GB of RAM, which could be marketed as 12GB. It may run a new version of Motorola’s Hello UI based on Android 17. The device recorded 2,669 points in Geekbench’s single-core test and 8,837 points in the multi-core test. More details are expected in the coming months.
Motorola Razr Flex 27 expected specifications
Earlier reports suggested that Motorola’s wide-folding phone would launch as the Motorola Razr Flex in select global markets. It could arrive in 2 Pantone-curated colours: Coriander and Dark Botanical Garden. The reported configuration includes 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.
The foldable is tipped to feature a 5,000mAh battery with Qi2 25W wireless charging support.
Its inner screen could be a 6.92-inch foldable OLED display with a resolution of 1,728 × 2,364 pixels, a refresh rate of up to 165Hz, Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support. The outer display may measure 4.97 inches, with a resolution of 1,736 × 1,140 pixels.
For photography, the phone is expected to include a 50-megapixel main rear camera with up to 30x digital zoom and a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera. It could also carry IP48 and IP49 ratings for dust and water resistance.
Motorola had previously confirmed plans to enter the wide-folding smartphone category after teasing its first device shortly after Apple introduced its first passport-style foldable, the iPhone Duo. The category has also seen launches from Samsung and Xiaomi.
