Ashish Panchal has taken on an expanded leadership role at Bajaj Finserv Group, where he has been appointed Group Head – Strategy while continuing as Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of Bajaj Finserv Direct Ltd.
Panchal brings extensive experience across financial services, business strategy, digital platforms, consumer finance, cards, distribution and growth leadership. His expanded mandate adds a group-level strategy responsibility to his existing role at Bajaj Finserv Direct Ltd.
Panchal has been serving as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Bajaj Finserv Direct Ltd. and Bajaj Markets since 2022. Before that, he spent more than 10 years with Bajaj Finserv as President, building experience across the group’s financial services businesses.
Before joining Bajaj Finserv, Panchal held leadership positions at Barclays Bank. His roles included Head – Acquisition and Portfolio Actions, Credit Cards, and Head – Alternate Channels & Area Director – Western Region.
He also held multiple positions at Citi, where his responsibilities covered credit card sales, corporate salary accounts and merchant acceptance.
Earlier in his career, Panchal worked with Standard Chartered Bank as Business Financial Manager. He also held sales and marketing responsibilities at Unilever Bestfoods and worked in planning at Godrej & Boyce Mfg. Co. Ltd.
Across these roles, he has developed experience spanning banking, consumer businesses, financial planning, sales, digital financial services and business strategy.
As Group Head – Strategy at Bajaj Finserv Group, Panchal will take on a broader strategic mandate while continuing to lead Bajaj Finserv Direct Ltd. His expanded role brings together his experience across digital financial services, consumer platforms and group-level business leadership.
