Snap is turning its new augmented-reality glasses toward workplace use by partnering with major technology companies to bring enterprise software and AI tools to Specs. The company announced partnerships with Salesforce, Nvidia and Amazon Web Services as it seeks to build demand in the competitive AR glasses market.

Unveiled in June at $2,195, Specs is a major push by Snap CEO Evan Spiegel into a market attracting growing investment and consumer interest. The segment is currently dominated by Meta, while Apple has seen mixed results in making its Vision Pro headset a mainstream product.

Snap is positioning Specs as a hands-free workplace device for businesses operating in environments where desktop computers are less practical, including factory floors, retail stores and field service operations.

Salesforce will bring its AI agent platform, Agentforce, to Specs. This will allow workers to access company data and automate tasks through the glasses.

Nvidia will provide the AI capabilities needed for Specs to understand a worker’s surroundings and retrieve relevant company information. Amazon Web Services will bring its AI assistant, enabling employees to use voice commands for tasks such as checking product availability.

The partnerships also include software company Trifork and augmented-reality software firm Hololight. Snap has not disclosed the financial terms of the deals.

Specs’ charging case will be available separately or as part of a $2,395 bundle. The case will include cellular connectivity through telecom partners, including Verizon in the US, Orange in France and BT Group’s EE in the UK.

Snap also announced the Specs Intelligence AI service. The company has previously said shipments of the glasses are expected to begin later this fall in the US, UK and France.

From October, consumers will be able to try Specs at the Westfield Century City shopping mall in Los Angeles.
