Swiggy has introduced new ways for customers to report food safety concerns, allowing users to raise complaints through a dedicated helpline and a new ‘Food Safety’ section within the app.
The initiative comes amid increased attention on food safety, including a reported state-wide crackdown by the Food and Drug Administration in Maharashtra and inspections conducted by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) at five-star hotels in Delhi.
Customers can report food safety concerns by calling 7948231850. They can also use the ‘Food Safety’ channel under the Help section of the Swiggy app to submit a short description and upload relevant pictures.
After submitting a complaint, customers will receive a ticket number that can be used to track its status. Users who call the dedicated helpline will also receive a link on their registered mobile number, allowing them to provide additional information and upload pictures related to the concern.
Swiggy said its Food Safety Assurance Team will review complaints on priority and take appropriate action.
Sidharth Bhakoo, Chief Business Officer, Swiggy Food Marketplace, said, “While we continue to work closely with our restaurant partners on food safety, we are also further strengthening the ways in which customers can raise any concerns they may have. Customer feedback has always been an important part of how we work, and these additional touch points will further help us in identifying and addressing any gaps, wherever they may arise”.
The company said the helpline and in-app channel will also help identify repeated complaints and emerging patterns, allowing Swiggy to engage restaurant partners and strengthen preventive food safety measures across its platform.
