Pinterest has announced a leadership change in its finance function, with Chief Financial Officer Julia Donnelly set to leave the company on October 30. The company has started an external search for her successor.
Vikram Naidu, Pinterest’s Vice President of Finance and Business Operations, will serve as principal financial officer on an interim basis.
CEO Bill Ready said Donnelly’s leadership supported a period in which Pinterest delivered 11 consecutive quarters of double-digit revenue growth, strengthened operating discipline and expanded margins to support the company’s long-term financial health.
Donnelly joined Pinterest in 2023 from online furniture retailer Wayfair, where she served as Global Head of Finance. She is leaving Pinterest to pursue an opportunity with a private, early-stage company.
During her tenure, Pinterest completed the acquisition of connected-TV advertising platform tvScientific and entered into a $4 billion cloud-services partnership with Amazon Web Services.
The leadership transition comes as Pinterest faces a more competitive digital advertising environment. Earlier this month, the company forecast slower revenue growth for the 3rd quarter, reflecting increased competition from larger platforms, including Meta’s Instagram.
Pinterest will now begin the process of finding its next finance chief as Donnelly prepares to leave at the end of October.
