
Prime Video is set to deepen its presence across Latin America with plans to invest more than $2 billion between 2027 and 2030, expanding its original content and sports offerings across Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia and Chile.
The company plans to more than double the number of local original productions across these 5 countries from 2026, with more than 25 new titles scheduled for 2027.
The upcoming slate includes “La Oficina” Season 2, “Tremembé” Season 2, “Menem” Season 2 and “Marília”, along with new scripted series, films and reality shows.
Prime Video also highlighted the expansion of its sports offering under its 11-year global NBA deal. The platform now offers more than 200 games per season in Brazil and Mexico. It has also brought NBA games to Argentina, Colombia and Chile for the 1st time.
The company will further expand its sports lineup by becoming a new home for the Mexico national team, streaming 38 home matches over 4 years starting next month.
Prime Video is also expanding its streaming services in other Latin American markets. Later this year, customers in Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Paraguay and Peru will be able to subscribe to third-party streaming services directly through the app.
Rentals and purchases of premium entertainment will also launch in those 5 countries, in addition to Argentina.
