iPhone 18 Pro could mirror iPhone 17 Pro design, new leak claims

Apple’s upcoming iPhone 18 Pro could arrive with fewer external changes than expected, as a new leak suggests the next-generation model may share almost the same dimensions and design as the 17 Pro.

Mark Gurman shared an image on X showing an OtterBox case listed as compatible with both the iPhone 17 Pro and 18 Pro. “Otterbox seems to think the iPhone 18 Pro will be able to fit inside 17 Pro cases and vice versa,” Gurman said. The case is reportedly already being sold at Best Buy.

The blue case shown in the leak features a horizontal rear camera module with cutouts for 3 cameras, an LED flash and a LiDAR sensor.

The claim conflicts with earlier reports that the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max could be slightly thicker than their predecessors. The iPhone 18 Pro is also rumoured to feature a larger 4,056mAh battery, which could require a thicker body.

The upcoming Pro model is expected to retain the triple rear-camera setup. It could include a 48-megapixel primary camera, a 48-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 48-megapixel telephoto camera.

Under the hood, the iPhone 18 Pro is rumoured to use Apple’s A20 Pro chipset and a C2 modem, internally known as Ganymede. Some reports have also referred to a 2nm A20 chipset.

Apple is believed to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max on September 8, alongside the company’s first foldable iPhone.
