Nvidia has teamed up with 6 major financial institutions to create compute financing platforms designed to raise more than $500 billion in third-party capital for AI infrastructure.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said the company could backstop up to $125 billion, or 25% of potential deals. The move comes as demand for AI computing capacity continues to grow, with governments, companies and startups investing heavily in data centers to support AI workloads.

Major technology companies have indicated that their AI spending will remain strong, with combined spending expected to exceed $730 billion this year.

Under the initiative, Nvidia has signed memorandums of understanding with Apollo, BlackRock, Blackstone, Brookfield, Goldman Sachs and KKR. The financing platforms are aimed at expanding access to Nvidia-based infrastructure for frontier AI developers, enterprises, governments and cloud providers.

The initiative will also create longer-term, usage-linked investment opportunities for large asset managers and private capital firms.

“These financing platforms will help customers access scarce compute at scale and build the AI factories that will power every industry and country in the age of AI,” Huang said.

Nvidia said the arrangements would “create dedicated pools of capital at significant scale at attractive rates” for its customers.

The company has not disclosed the financial terms, individual investment commitments or a timeline for deploying the planned $500 billion.

The development was first reported by the Financial Times on Monday and was later confirmed by Reuters.
