Reliance Jio has introduced JioTag 2 in India, expanding its Bluetooth tracking device lineup nearly 3 years after launching the first-generation JioTag. The compact tracker is designed to help users locate everyday items such as keys, wallets, backpacks, luggage, and bicycles when misplaced.
The biggest upgrade in JioTag 2 is its compatibility with both Android and iPhone devices. Unlike the earlier version, which had limited support, the new tracker works with Google’s Find Hub network on Android devices and Apple’s Find My network on iPhones and iPads.
JioTag 2 uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) connectivity and does not require a SIM card or mobile data plan. When the device moves beyond Bluetooth range, nearby Android or Apple devices can anonymously help update its location through their respective tracking networks.
The tracker also features a built-in 120dB speaker, which can be activated through the connected app to help users locate nearby misplaced items. It also comes with a Lost Mode feature, allowing the location of a missing JioTag 2 to be updated when it comes near a compatible Android phone or iPhone.
The device carries an IP64 rating, offering protection against dust and light water splashes. It comes with a replaceable battery that provides up to 1 year of usage. Jio is also including an additional battery in the box, allowing users to operate the tracker for up to 2 years before replacing the battery again.
JioTag 2 is priced at ₹1,249 in India and is available in Black, Green, and Red colour options. The tracker can be purchased through the online marketplace. Customers using eligible bank cards can avail an instant discount of up to ₹50, reducing the effective price to ₹1,199.
The device includes a built-in loop, making it easier to attach to keychains, bags, luggage, and other personal belongings.
