Fresh leaks have revealed key battery details of Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra, suggesting noticeable upgrades over the previous generation. Although the next Galaxy S series is still months away from its expected launch, reports indicate that Samsung could introduce larger batteries along with new silicon-carbon battery technology.
According to a recent report, the Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro is expected to feature a battery with a rated capacity of 5,087mAh, which could be marketed as a typical 5,200mAh battery. This would be an improvement over earlier rumours that suggested a 5,000mAh battery.
The Galaxy S27 Ultra is tipped to receive an even larger upgrade. It could pack a battery with a rated capacity of 5,534mAh, likely to be advertised as a typical 5,700mAh battery. Samsung may even market it as a 5,800mAh battery. For comparison, the Galaxy S26 Ultra was launched with a 5,000mAh battery, 60W wired fast charging, and 25W wireless charging.
The report also suggests that Samsung could adopt silicon-carbon battery technology for its next-generation flagship smartphones. This technology offers higher energy density, allowing manufacturers to fit larger batteries into smartphones without making them significantly thicker.
Battery details for the standard Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+ are still unknown. Samsung is expected to introduce 4 models in the lineup, including the Galaxy S27, Galaxy S27+, Galaxy S27 Pro, and Galaxy S27 Ultra.
Previous leaks indicate that the Galaxy S27 Pro could be powered by the Exynos 2700 chipset in markets such as South Korea and Europe, while the US version may feature a Snapdragon processor. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S27 Ultra is expected to use a custom Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 series chipset for Galaxy across all regions.
