In a move aimed at strengthening efforts against cybercrime, the United States has announced a new visa restriction policy that will apply to individuals found responsible for or involved in cybercrime and cyber-enabled criminal activities.
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced the new policy on Thursday, stating that it is designed to target people who are responsible for or complicit in cybercrime and cyber-enabled crimes.
According to a statement released by the U.S. State Department, the policy may also extend to the immediate family members of individuals involved in such activities. These family members could also face visa restrictions under the new measures.
The announcement marks the introduction of a new visa policy focused on addressing cybercrime-related threats and holding those linked to such activities accountable.
