Uttar Pradesh is set to strengthen its position in advanced technology with plans to develop India’s largest integrated robotics and advanced manufacturing hub in Noida, alongside 2 deep-tech innovation centres in Noida and Lucknow. The announcement was made during a review meeting of the Information Technology and Electronics Department chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
The proposed facility, named PRAGATI (Park for Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, GPU Clusters and Advanced Technical Innovation), will be developed across nearly 75 acres in Noida. It is planned as India’s first integrated robotics and advanced manufacturing cluster, bringing together robotics testing and certification, rapid prototyping, AI computing infrastructure, motion capture laboratories, physical AI data centres, startup incubation facilities and co-working spaces under one roof.
The project is expected to create more than 1 lakh direct and indirect jobs and contribute over ₹2,000 crore in gross value addition over the next 5 years.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister directed officials, “Prepare a comprehensive roadmap to position Uttar Pradesh as a national leader in robotics, artificial intelligence, quantum computing, semiconductor design and other emerging technologies.”
Officials said Noida was selected due to its strong electronics manufacturing ecosystem, proximity to Jewar International Airport, the dedicated freight corridor, the defence industrial corridor and its well-established academic and industrial ecosystem.
The Chief Minister also reviewed plans for U-Hub, a network of deep-tech innovation centres proposed for Noida and Lucknow, with a budget allocation of ₹100 crore for 2026-27. Designed by an expert committee led by the IIT Kanpur Director, the hubs aim to connect researchers, startups, investors, industries and academic institutions while accelerating the commercialisation of emerging technologies.
The Noida centre will focus on quantum computing, semiconductor design, robotics, physical AI, defence technologies and advanced biotechnology. The Lucknow hub will specialise in applied AI, GovTech, healthcare AI, biosciences and agri-biotechnology.
The Chief Minister said, “UP should emerge not merely as a consumer of new technologies but as a global centre for research, innovation and high-tech manufacturing,” adding, “industry-aligned skill development in AI, machine learning, cybersecurity, cloud computing, semiconductors and data science would bring the next leap of growth in the state.” He also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to making the state’s IT policy more investor-friendly and expanding the IT industry to tier-II and tier-III cities.
