Smarten Power Systems has promoted Ranjit Singh as its Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective 1 August 2026.
This promotion was approved by the company’s Board of Directors during its meeting held on 14 July 2026. The move comes as the company continues to strengthen its manufacturing capabilities and prepare for its next phase of growth in India and international markets.
Before taking on the new role, Singh served as Consultant – Vice President, Operations at Smarten Power Systems. During his tenure, he played a key role in improving operational processes, enhancing manufacturing efficiency and supporting several strategic initiatives. As COO, he will lead the company’s end-to-end operations, manufacturing excellence, supply chain, quality systems and strategic execution while driving operational efficiency to support future expansion.
Singh also led the successful transition of Smarten’s in-house battery manufacturing facility at Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, following the company’s IPO. He oversaw the complete handover of the manufacturing operations by establishing the required processes, systems and teams for stable in-house production. With this transition completed, he will now oversee operations across Smarten’s existing manufacturing facilities and lead the operationalisation of its upcoming manufacturing plant.
Commenting on the appointment, Rajnish Sharma, Whole Time Director and Chief Executive Officer of Smarten, said, “As Smarten enters its next phase of growth, strengthening our leadership team is key to scaling our operations and delivering long-term value. Ranjit brings deep operational expertise, extensive manufacturing experience and a proven track record of building high-performing operations. Having already contributed significantly as Vice President Operations, he understands our business well. We are confident his leadership will further strengthen our operational excellence and support our strategic ambitions.”
Sharing his thoughts on the new role, Ranjit Singh, Chief Operating Officer, Smarten Power Systems, said, “I am honoured to take on this responsibility at such an exciting stage in Smarten’s journey. The company has built a strong foundation and is well positioned for its next stage of expansion. My focus will be on strengthening manufacturing excellence, streamlining operations, enhancing quality systems, improving supply chain agility and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. I look forward to working with the leadership team to build scalable operations that drive innovation, deliver greater customer value and support Smarten’s long-term vision.”
Singh brings more than 52 years of experience in manufacturing, engineering, product development and operations across the power electronics, telecom power and renewable energy sectors. With this appointment, Smarten continues to strengthen its leadership team and build a future-ready organisation to meet the evolving demands of the power backup and renewable energy industry.
