Samsung Galaxy Glasses leak hints at AI features and companion app controls

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Glasses have surfaced in leaked companion app screenshots, offering a closer look at the company’s first AI-powered smart glasses and their charging case. The leak also reveals several features and controls expected to be available through the dedicated management app.

According to the leaked images, the Galaxy Glasses Manager app will serve as the companion app for the wearable. It will guide users through the setup process after the required permissions are granted. The screenshots also show the charging case in a black finish.

The report suggests users will pair the Galaxy Glasses with their smartphones by removing the protective film from the nose bridge and sliding the power switch located on the left arm of the glasses. Users may then be prompted to place the glasses inside the charging case. Once the case indicator starts blinking, the pairing process can begin.

After pairing, the Galaxy Glasses Manager app is expected to let users manage device settings, install software updates and control various features directly from their smartphones.

The app is also expected to support transferring photos and videos from the smart glasses to a connected phone, adjusting AI assistant settings and locating the wearable through a “Find my glasses” feature. The leaked screenshots further indicate that the Galaxy Glasses will run on One UI XR.

Samsung first announced plans to expand its Galaxy wearables ecosystem during the Android Show in December last year. The company later confirmed that it was developing AI-powered smart glasses. During Google’s annual developer conference in May, Samsung also showcased the first 2 smart glasses created in collaboration with eyewear brands Warby Parker and Gentle Monster.

Although Samsung has not officially confirmed the launch date, a recent report suggested the company could unveil the Galaxy Glasses during its next Galaxy Unpacked event, expected to take place on July 22 in London.
