In its latest step toward enhancing the iPhone experience, Apple has released the iOS 27 Developer Beta 2 update, introducing several new features focused on artificial intelligence, messaging, productivity, and system improvements. The update is currently available to registered developers and beta testers and builds on the capabilities first showcased during WWDC 2026.

One of the key additions is the new Write with Siri shortcut, which now appears as a dedicated button above the keyboard in apps such as Notes, Mail, and Messages. The feature provides quicker access to Siri’s AI-powered writing tools, helping users draft and refine content more efficiently.

Apple has also added an unreleased Insights section within the Wallet app. Although the feature is not yet active, it is expected to allow users to connect financial accounts and view spending patterns, recurring transactions, account balances, and other financial information from a single dashboard.

The update brings improvements to Rich Communication Services (RCS) messaging as well. Users can now reply directly to specific messages within RCS conversations, making chats more organized and easier to follow.

Several other enhancements have been introduced across the system. The Home app now supports remote Apple TV software updates without requiring the device to be switched on. Visual Intelligence gains a new Highlight to Image Search option, enabling selected images to be sent to third-party services for similar-image searches.

Additional improvements include highlighted hidden controls in the Camera app, live HomeKit Secure Video previews in notifications, better readability in the Weather app, support for deleting multiple Siri conversations at once, and expanded RAW image support for Apple Intelligence photo-editing tools in the Photos app.

The update is approximately 5.23GB in size on the iPhone 15 Pro running the first developer beta. Apple confirmed that all devices compatible with iOS 26, including the iPhone 11 series and newer models, are eligible for iOS 27.

The public release is expected later this year alongside Apple’s next-generation iPhone lineup.
