S&P Global has promoted Sunil Varma to Director, Regional People Advisory (RPA) Cluster Lead, expanding his responsibilities to lead people advisory initiatives across its Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Mumbai and Chennai clusters.
The promotion reflects the company’s confidence in his leadership capabilities and extensive expertise in human resources, talent management, employee engagement, workforce strategy, and business partnering.
In his new role, Sunil will oversee regional people strategy and advisory functions across multiple key locations. He will work closely with business leaders to enhance workforce effectiveness, employee experience, talent development, organizational capability, and people-focused business outcomes. His expanded mandate places him at the center of driving strategic HR initiatives across some of S&P Global’s major talent hubs.
Sunil joined S&P Global in 2024 as Director, People Partner, where he played a key role in aligning people strategies with business objectives, supporting leadership teams, and strengthening organizational effectiveness. During his tenure, he contributed significantly to talent management, workforce planning, employee engagement, and leadership development programs.
Prior to joining S&P Global, he spent more than 13 years at Infosys, holding several HR leadership positions, including Senior Unit HR Manager – BPHR, Unit HR Manager, Senior Lead – Business Partner HR, and Lead – Business Partner HR. Throughout his career at Infosys, he partnered with leadership teams across communications, media, technology, life sciences, services, and global business units, managing large-scale HR programs, talent initiatives, employee relations, workforce planning, and performance management processes.
Earlier, he worked with Tata Elxsi, where he handled employee relations, competency mapping, organizational development, and performance management initiatives. He also gained early professional experience with Google Online India Pvt. Ltd. and Genpact.
With nearly 20 years of experience across HR business partnering, talent management, organizational development, employee relations, leadership advisory, and workforce strategy, Sunil is well-positioned to lead the next phase of people transformation and organizational growth at S&P Global.
