Vijayawada Police launches AI-based cybercrime training programme for constables

Police Commissioner S.V. Rajashekar Babu on Monday, May 25, 2026, inaugurated the “NTR Police Khaki Studio” training programme aimed at improving cybercrime awareness and investigation capabilities among police personnel.

Under the initiative, 1 police constable from every police station under the commissionerate will undergo a 5-day training programme. The sessions will focus on cyber safety, prevention of cyber offences, and the use of AI-driven tools and technologies to identify and respond to digital crimes more effectively.

The programme has been introduced as cyber-related crimes continue to rise across the country, increasing the need for advanced digital policing and technology-led investigation methods.

Senior police officials, including Deputy Commissioners of Police Shareen Begum, K.G.V. Saritha, K. Krishna Prasanna, and B. Lakshmi Narayana, were also present during the launch event.

The initiative is expected to strengthen the cybercrime response system at the police station level by equipping frontline personnel with updated knowledge and practical digital investigation skills.
