In a major action against cybercrime networks, the Cyber Police unit of Delhi’s West district carried out a month-long inter-State crackdown that led to action against 89 individuals.
According to an officer, 35 people were arrested while 54 others were taken into preventive custody during the operation conducted against multiple cybercrime activities.
The investigation focused on several types of online fraud, including digital arrest scams, investment frauds, APK file scams, fake dating membership scams and mule account operations.
Officials said the cases under investigation involved financial transactions worth up to ₹70 crore. The crackdown was conducted as part of ongoing efforts to trace and disrupt cybercrime networks operating across different States.
The operation highlights the growing scale of cyber fraud activities and the increasing focus of law enforcement agencies on tackling organised digital crime.
