In a major relief for Aadhaar users, UIDAI has extended its free online document update service till June 14, 2027. Residents can now continue updating their proof of identity and proof of address details on the myAadhaar portal without paying any fee.
The decision comes after a strong response from users who updated their Aadhaar details digitally through the online platform.
To make changes, users simply need to log in to the myAadhaar portal using their Aadhaar number and OTP. After logging in, they can upload scanned copies of their identity and address documents and submit the update request online.
For address changes, residents must enter the new address details along with valid supporting documents. Once the request gets approved, the updated Aadhaar can be downloaded directly from the portal.
Aadhaar remains one of the most widely used identity documents in India for services such as banking, government schemes, and SIM card verification. The extension of the free update facility is expected to help residents keep their information updated easily without additional expenses or lengthy procedures.
