In her new role, Shanu will lead integrated marketing initiatives for the bank’s wealth and retail banking business in India, focusing on brand growth, customer engagement, and business expansion across one of the bank’s key markets.
Shanu returns to Standard Chartered after previously spending more than 6 years with the bank in multiple leadership roles across brand and marketing functions. During her earlier tenure, she served as Director – Brand & Marketing for Consumer, Private and Business Banking, as well as Director – Brand & Marketing for Retail Banking, Wealth and Sponsorships. In these roles, she contributed significantly to customer-focused marketing strategies and brand positioning across business segments.
Before rejoining Standard Chartered, she served as Chief Marketing Officer at ASK Asset & Wealth Management, where she led strategic marketing and brand transformation initiatives, including the launch of a new corporate identity aimed at strengthening the company’s presence in the wealth management sector.
Shanu also worked as Director – The Economic Times Brand at Bennett, Coleman & Co. Ltd., managing brand strategy and P&L responsibilities for one of India’s leading financial media brands.
Earlier in her career, Shanu spent more than 8 years at Kotak Mahindra Bank in various roles covering product marketing, brand communications, and relationship management, building strong expertise in banking and customer engagement.
She holds an MBA in Marketing & Finance from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies.
