In his expanded role, Gokul will continue to focus on driving innovation, scaling digital payment solutions, and strengthening the bank’s position in the rapidly evolving payments landscape.
Gokul has been associated with Axis Bank for more than 5 years and has held several leadership roles across digital banking and payments. Before this promotion, he served as Vice President – Digital Payments, where he worked closely with major UPI Third Party Application Providers (TPAPs) and acquiring clients. His efforts played a key role in strengthening the bank’s UPI ecosystem and supporting its leading market position in FY26.
Earlier, he worked as Product Head – Retail Inward Remittances, leading teams responsible for wire transfers, Vostro accounts, and digital remittance platforms. Prior to that, he served as Assistant Vice President – Digital Inward Remittances, contributing to the development and expansion of the bank’s digital remittance capabilities.
Before rejoining Axis Bank during his current tenure, Gokul held strategic roles at SBM Bank India as AVP – Strategy in the MD/CEO’s Office and at Fino Payments Bank as AVP & Executive Assistant to the MD/CEO. In these roles, he contributed to strategic planning, digital transformation initiatives, and data-driven business decisions.
Earlier in his career, he spent more than 3 years at Axis Bank in business intelligence and digital remittance strategy roles. During this period, he helped launch platforms such as RemitMoney.com while driving revenue growth and improving customer experience.
He also worked at Mu Sigma as Senior Business Analyst, focusing on advanced analytics, marketing optimization, and business strategy projects. He began his professional journey with Nokia Siemens Networks as a software engineer.
Gokul holds a PGDM in Marketing Management from SP Jain Institute of Management and Research.
