Early details about upcoming budget smartphones from Xiaomi have surfaced, pointing to the launch of the Redmi 17 series and related Poco models. Certification listings and software references suggest multiple variants and regional rebranding plans.
A new Redmi smartphone, believed to be the Redmi 17 4G, has appeared on the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) database with model number 26012RN62L and FCC ID 2AFZZRN62L. The listing confirms support for GSM, WCDMA, and 4G connectivity, along with dual SIM, Bluetooth (BR, EDR, LE), and dual-band Wi-Fi with 2.4GHz and 5GHz support.
The device is expected to launch in multiple configurations, including 4GB + 128GB, 6GB + 128GB, 6GB + 256GB, 6GB + 512GB, 8GB + 256GB, and 8GB + 512GB options. Another model number, 26012RN62Y, is also linked to the same device.
Reports suggest that Xiaomi may introduce a rebranded version under its Poco lineup, possibly as the Poco M9 4G with model number 26012PC62G. Software code references identify the device with the codename “zephyr” and internal model number P19A.
The Redmi 17 4G is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2 chipset. Additionally, another set of devices linked to the codename “mist” and internal model number P19 has been spotted. These include model numbers 26021RN18C, 26021RN18I, and 26021PC18I, which are believed to correspond to the Redmi Note 17R for China, the Redmi 17 5G, and a rebranded Poco M8 Plus 5G.
For the 5G version, Xiaomi is expected to use the Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset.
In terms of availability, the Redmi 17 4G is likely to launch in global markets including Europe, Turkey, Indonesia, Taiwan, and Russia. The 5G variants are expected to target the same regions, with additional launches planned in India and China.
