In his new role, Mehrotra will lead the company’s people strategy, organisational transformation, and talent agenda. His mandate includes driving HR strategy, leadership development, and workforce transformation to build a future-ready organisation.
Before joining Hindustan Power, he served as CHRO at ACME Group, where he led large-scale transformation initiatives across renewable energy, green hydrogen, and emerging business areas. His work included organisational design, talent pipeline development, HR digitalisation, innovation frameworks, and leadership capability building.
Earlier, Mehrotra was Head of Human Resources at HPCL-Mittal Energy Limited, where he drove enterprise-wide HR transformation for a multi-billion-dollar refining and petrochemicals business transitioning toward integrated energy operations. His focus areas included succession planning, leadership development, employee experience, and strengthening DEI practices.
Mehrotra has also held senior leadership roles at Astix and Ashok Leyland, contributing to organisational consulting, restructuring, talent retention, and industrial relations.
His earlier experience includes serving as CHRO for Asia and Africa at Mylan, leading global talent integration and expansion. At Zensar Technologies, he drove global HR transformation and workforce scaling. He also held global HR leadership roles at Kennametal and began his career at ITC Limited.
With over 30 years of experience, Gopalji Mehrotra brings deep expertise in HR transformation, talent strategy, leadership development, and managing complex global organisations, positioning him to lead Hindustan Power’s next phase of growth.
