Strengthening its global technology footprint, The Standard has opened a new Global Capability Centre (GCC) at Embassy Tech Village in Bengaluru.

The facility was inaugurated by Priyank Kharge and marks the company’s continued expansion in India after establishing its presence in November 2025.

The newly launched centre will focus on key areas including artificial intelligence, cloud platform development, data analytics, digital transformation, and insurance operations. Through this hub, the company aims to tap into India’s strong talent pool while enhancing its global innovation and service delivery capabilities.

Company leaders stated that the Bengaluru GCC will play a critical role in accelerating digital transformation and improving operational efficiency. It also supports the company’s shift from vendor-led services to in-house engineering, enabling faster innovation and better control over core processes.

Greg Chandler, Executive Vice President of Information Technology at The Standard, said that India operations are becoming central to the company’s long-term vision. He added that the new centre will help scale technology capabilities and deliver solutions to customers more efficiently.

Mohua Sengupta, Senior Vice President and Country Head of The Standard India, described the centre as a blend of enterprise strength and startup agility. She highlighted that the hub will enable teams to build new capabilities while collaborating closely with global teams.

Since entering India, the company has been expanding its leadership across functions such as finance, human resources, technology, and communications. The new Bengaluru facility is expected to further strengthen this ecosystem and support long-term growth and innovation.

With this move, The Standard joins a growing number of global companies investing in India’s GCC ecosystem, reinforcing Bengaluru’s position as a major hub for technology and digital services.
