Lenovo cuts price of Legion Tab Gen 3 to $399 as premium successor approaches

This move highlights Lenovo’s strategy to attract buyers with value pricing before introducing a higher-priced successor.

The Lenovo Legion Tab Gen 3, originally launched in early 2025, has returned to sale in the U.S. at a discounted price of $399. This marks a $150 reduction from its original price of $549, making it a significantly more affordable option compared to the upcoming model.

The tablet stands out as a compact yet powerful Android device, featuring a high-end Snapdragon chipset designed to deliver strong gaming and performance capabilities.

Meanwhile, Lenovo is preparing to launch the next-generation Lenovo Legion Tab Gen 5, which is expected to bring upgrades in display, battery, and processing power with a newer Qualcomm chip. However, the new model is priced at $849, positioning it at a much higher premium.

The return of the Gen 3 model follows a brief period when it went out of stock, leading to speculation that it had been discontinued. Its reappearance, combined with aggressive pricing, suggests Lenovo is offering a budget-friendly alternative for users unwilling to pay the higher price of the upcoming version.

With this pricing strategy, Lenovo is targeting consumers looking for high performance at a lower cost, especially in the compact tablet segment.
