The appointment comes as the bank strengthens its operational presence in the Kingdom. In his new role, Hamzi will lead enterprise-wide operations, governance, and regulatory execution. His focus will be on building a scalable operating model aligned with Saudi Central Bank frameworks, while driving operational excellence and sustainable growth.
Sharing his perspective, Hamzi stated that his priority will be strengthening governance, improving operational efficiency, and advancing digital capabilities to support a future-ready banking environment.
Prior to this, he served as Acting Chief Executive Officer at National Bank of Iraq – Saudi Arabia, where he led strategic direction, regulatory alignment, and operational performance. His leadership played a key role in enhancing governance frameworks, driving digital transformation, and aligning operations with Saudi Vision 2030.
Earlier, he was Head of Operations and Trade at National Bank of Iraq – Saudi Arabia, leading cross-functional banking operations, managing payment systems, and ensuring compliance with SAMA regulations. He also contributed to sector-wide initiatives as a member of the Banking Operations Officers Committee (BOOC).
Before that, Hamzi worked at Industrial and Commercial Bank of China in Saudi Arabia as Vice President – Head of Operations and Safety & Security, overseeing core banking operations, regulatory reporting, and audit readiness, while collaborating with technology teams to enhance systems and efficiency.
He also held leadership roles at National Bank of Bahrain as Head of Operations, managing treasury, payments, trade finance, and compliance functions. Additionally, he spent over 14 years at Emirates NBD, progressing through roles including Operations Manager, Payments Team Leader, and Treasury Operations Specialist.
Hamzi began his career at The Saudi Investment Bank as Treasury Operations Supervisor, building a strong foundation in treasury settlements, compliance, and financial operations.
