Samsung brings Apple AirDrop compatibility to Galaxy S26 via Quick Share

Cross-platform file sharing is becoming more seamless, as Samsung introduces support for Apple’s AirDrop within its Quick Share feature on the latest Galaxy S26 series.

The feature, first introduced by Google in November 2025 on the Pixel 10 series, allows Android users to share files directly with Apple devices. After expanding to the Pixel 9 lineup last month, the capability has now arrived on Samsung’s newest flagship devices.

Samsung confirmed that AirDrop support via Quick Share is available on the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra. This update enables users to send and receive files between Android and Apple ecosystems without additional apps or workarounds.

To activate the feature, users need to go to the Settings app, select Connected devices, tap on Quick Share, and enable the “Share with Apple devices” option. Once turned on, file transfers between compatible devices become seamless.

The rollout reflects a broader push toward improving interoperability across platforms. While the feature is currently available on select devices, it is expected to expand further across the Android ecosystem.

Other smartphone makers are also moving in this direction. Oppo has confirmed that its latest Find X9 series will receive similar functionality soon, although a specific timeline has not been shared.

This development marks a step forward in simplifying file sharing between Android and Apple users, addressing one of the long-standing limitations between the two ecosystems.
