The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi has invited applications for its 2026 Summer Research Fellowship, offering undergraduate and postgraduate students from other institutes an opportunity to engage in advanced research.
The programme is open to undergraduate students, excluding those from IIT Delhi, who have completed at least 2 years of engineering study and rank among the top 10 in their programme. M.Tech and M.E. students, also from outside IIT Delhi, are eligible if they have completed at least the 1st semester, secured a minimum of 70% marks or a CGPA of 7.00 on a 10-point scale, and rank within the top 10 of their batch.
Selected candidates will receive multiple benefits under the fellowship. This includes travel expenses within India by train (sleeper class), along with boarding and lodging at IIT Delhi hostels during the programme. In addition, students will be given a fellowship of ₹2000 per week.
Participants will be registered as visiting students and will not be required to pay any institute registration fee. However, selected candidates must arrange their own insurance coverage for the duration of their stay, covering accidents and accidental death, with the cost to be borne by the student.
Applications must be submitted through the official online portal. Candidates are required to upload a photograph (JPG format, 200×230 pixels, maximum size 100 KB), a consolidated grade card, a rank certificate, and a No Objection Certificate from their parent institution. The certificate must clearly mention the start and end dates of the proposed research period.
Applicants must ensure that all uploaded documents are clear and legible, as unclear submissions may lead to rejection. While no hard copy is required at the application stage, shortlisted candidates will need to present original documents at the time of joining.
