ONGC partners with CIPL to upgrade IT systems with AI

Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has awarded a contract worth approximately ₹125 crore to Corporate Infotech Private Limited (CIPL). Under this agreement, CIPL will manage and maintain IT infrastructure across 47 ONGC centres nationwide for the next 3 years.

The initiative aims to modernise ONGC’s digital systems and significantly strengthen its cybersecurity framework. It is expected to improve the efficiency, reliability, and overall security of the organisation’s IT operations.

A key highlight of the project is the integration of Artificial Intelligence technologies. This includes AI-based monitoring, predictive maintenance, and intelligent automation. These capabilities will help ensure that critical systems operate more safely and efficiently.

To execute the project, CIPL has deployed a team of over 450 skilled IT professionals. The team will be stationed across various ONGC offices and will provide round-the-clock technical support and continuous security monitoring.

According to Vinod Kumar, the partnership goes beyond routine IT management. It focuses on enhancing operational efficiency and strengthening security through modern technologies.

This collaboration between ONGC, established in 1956, and CIPL, active since 2007, is seen as a significant step towards the digital empowerment of the government sector.
