A new discovery tool has been introduced by Disney on its streaming platform Disney+, aimed at making it easier for viewers to find movies and shows. The company has rolled out Verts, a vertical video feed that allows users to scroll through short clips from titles available on the platform.
According to Disney, the feature helps users quickly explore content without spending much time browsing. The rollout has begun for Disney+ subscribers in the US and is currently available inside the Disney+ mobile app. Verts was first announced during the Consumer Electronics Show 2026, marking Disney’s entry into short-form vertical video within its streaming service.
A similar approach has already been seen in the industry. Last year, Netflix introduced a vertical video feed that allows users to scroll through short clips from its shows and movies.
How Verts works on Disney+
Disney explained that Verts appears as a new icon in the navigation bar of the Disney+ mobile app. When users tap the icon, they enter a vertical feed where they can swipe through clips taken from various titles available on the platform. The feed displays short scenes and highlights from movies and shows.
From this feed, users can directly begin watching the full title or add it to their Watchlist to view later. Disney said the feature is designed to simplify how viewers explore its large content catalogue, which includes titles from brands such as Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars.
The company also stated that the Verts experience uses a recommendation algorithm that suggests clips based on individual viewing preferences. This means different users may see different clips depending on what they watch on the platform.
Disney noted that the current rollout represents the first phase of the feature. Over time, the company plans to expand Verts and explore additional uses beyond content discovery. Future updates may introduce new storytelling formats, more personalised experiences and potentially content from creators connected to Disney’s fan communities.
