Leaked images of the upcoming Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2 have surfaced online, offering a detailed look at the device’s design. The images show that the tablet will feature a large built-in speaker on the back along with a prominent kickstand, suggesting a strong focus on multimedia and entertainment use.
According to the leaked renders, the tablet includes a rear speaker system with sound tuned by JBL. Devices with audio systems tuned by major sound brands have become increasingly common across the mobile industry. For example, Motorola recently introduced the Moto Buds 2 Plus with sound tuned by Bose, while Samsung has used AKG-tuned sound in several of its devices for years.
However, Lenovo’s approach with the Tab Plus Gen 2 appears more distinctive due to the large speaker integrated into the back panel. The leaked images suggest that the speaker takes up a significant portion of the device’s rear surface.
Design suggests a tablet built around audio
The leaked images indicate that the device remains a tablet-first product but integrates a large rear speaker designed to enhance audio performance. At first glance, the design could easily resemble a speaker with a display attached because of the size of the audio unit.
The images were shared by Evan Blass, who is widely known for publishing accurate leaks of upcoming smartphones and other mobile devices.
Although the tablet was not showcased at Mobile World Congress, Lenovo introduced several other devices during the event. Detailed specifications for the Tab Plus Gen 2 have not yet been revealed.
Kickstand and accessories visible in leaked renders
The leaked renders highlight a large circular kickstand ring on the back of the device that surrounds the speaker. This design is expected to make it easier for users to prop up the tablet for watching videos or using apps hands-free.
The images also suggest that Lenovo may introduce a folio case designed specifically for the tablet. The case appears to include a cutout for the rear speaker and may feature a shoulder strap for easier carrying.
Additionally, the accessory seems to include a smart pen similar to the stylus that Lenovo bundles with some of its tablets. The case also appears to include a dedicated slot to store the pen securely.
