The ePlane Company to build digital twin of eVTOL air taxis using NVIDIA Omniverse

In a move that highlights the growing role of simulation in next-generation aviation, The ePlane Company has announced plans to create virtual versions of its e200x electric air taxis using NVIDIA Omniverse libraries.

The company will develop a digital twin of its e200x series of Electric Vertical Take-off and Landing aircraft. These virtual models will be used to engineer and simulate complex aerodynamic behaviour, sensor responses, and multiple flight scenarios before the aircraft enters real-world operations.

By relying on high-fidelity simulations, the collaboration aims to test extreme weather conditions, sensor failures, and potential collision scenarios. It will also allow teams to fly millions of kms virtually, helping train flight algorithms for complex situations long before the aircraft takes its first physical flight.

“Collaborating with NVIDIA allows us to blur the line between the digital and the physical. By validating our flight operations suite in NVIDIA Omniverse, we are effectively pushing the limits of the aircraft thousands of times in simulation so that we never have to in reality,” said Satya Chakravarthy, Founder and CTO of The ePlane Company.

From NVIDIA’s side, the partnership reflects a broader push to support India’s start-up ecosystem with advanced computing tools. “NVIDIA is accelerating India’s start-up momentum by giving founders direct access to accelerated computing, scalable AI infrastructure, and programmes like NVIDIA Inception for start-ups and the NVIDIA VC Alliance — helping start-ups scale faster and build for global markets,” said Tobias Halloran, Director of EMEAI Startups and Venture Capital at NVIDIA.

The initiative underlines how digital twins and simulation-led development are becoming central to building safer and more reliable electric air mobility solutions.
