In this role, he will focus on scaling the company’s global platforms and strengthening operational capabilities across the countries it serves. The appointment highlights Walmart’s continued focus on enhancing omnichannel infrastructure and driving operational excellence worldwide.
Before taking on this expanded mandate, Galarraga served as Senior Vice President, Acceleration & Support at Walmart. He supported enterprise-wide operational scaling initiatives and played a key role in advancing cross-functional execution. In addition to his responsibilities at Walmart, he serves as a Board Member at James Avery Artisan Jewelry, where he provides strategic and governance guidance to the growing retail brand.
Prior to Walmart, Galarraga was Senior Vice President, Retail Operations at Five Below. There, he led omnichannel integration, store expansion strategy, and digital capability development across retail operations.
Earlier in his career, he spent over 2 decades at Target Corporation in several senior leadership roles. These included SVP Store Operations & Fulfillment, Senior Vice President, Stores & Field Operations, and Vice President, Supply Chain & Process Operations. During this period, he oversaw large-scale store operations, led digital fulfillment transformation programs, managed multi-billion-dollar P&Ls, and implemented operational systems that significantly improved efficiency and customer experience across thousands of stores.
In his new position, Galarraga will drive Walmart’s global operational strategy, aligning platform integration and execution capabilities to support sustained growth and seamless omnichannel delivery.
