A senior leadership change has been announced at First Citizens India as the bank strengthens its operational and risk management capabilities in the country.
In her new role, she will oversee enterprise-wide operations in India and focus on improving operational excellence, strengthening risk management, and supporting strategic execution for First Citizens Bank. The company said her appointment reflects its focus on building strong leadership across large-scale banking operations.
Before joining First Citizens India, Nirupama spent over 9 years at Wells Fargo. Most recently, she served as Managing Director and Commercial Banking Leader for India and the Philippines. In this role, she led teams supporting the full corporate lending lifecycle and chief administrative office (CAO) functions.
Earlier in her career, she held senior leadership positions at ICICI Bank. Her work there covered project finance, operational risk, governance, and corporate technology. These roles helped build her experience across banking operations, risk control, and business transformation.
At First Citizens India, Nirupama will use this background to strengthen internal processes and improve delivery across enterprise functions. Her focus areas include building resilient operations, enhancing risk oversight, and driving execution aligned with the bank’s global strategy.
The appointment underlines First Citizens Bank’s effort to expand its India operations with experienced leaders who bring deep knowledge of commercial banking and large-scale operational management.
