A major boost to digital connectivity is underway in central India. Bharti Airtel has significantly expanded its fifth-generation network across Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, strengthening high-speed internet access for millions of users across urban and rural areas.
Bharti Airtel said it has deployed more than 2,400 new 5G sites across the 2 states over the past 12 months. The expansion spans 87 districts and is expected to deliver reliable, high-speed connectivity to nearly 36 million customers living in cities, towns, and remote villages.
According to the company, the enhanced network will improve everyday digital experiences, including smoother video streaming, faster downloads, uninterrupted online work and learning, and more dependable digital payment services. Subscribers in key districts such as Indore, Bhopal, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Rewa, Ujjain, Sagar, Raipur, Bilaspur, Durg, Dewas, Korba, and Rajnandgaon are among those set to benefit directly from the expanded coverage.
The wider 5G footprint is also expected to support the digital needs of students, micro and small businesses, and government institutions, enabling easier access to online services and digital platforms across the region.
“Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh are among Airtel’s most strategic markets, and this expansion reflects our unwavering commitment to connecting the length and breadth of Bharat,” said Ritesh Agrawal, CEO of Bharti Airtel for Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
“Over the past year, we have deployed more than 2,400 new 5G sites, creating a robust digital backbone that will serve as a foundation for growth and innovation in these states,” he added.
Airtel said the investment reinforces its focus on building future-ready digital infrastructure and ensuring inclusive connectivity. With wider 5G availability, the company aims to accelerate digital adoption and enable new opportunities across education, commerce, governance, and innovation ecosystems in both states.
