Apple may unveil MacBook Pro models with M5 Pro and M5 Max chips on January 28

Apple could soon refresh its MacBook Pro range with more powerful versions powered by the M5 Pro and M5 Max chips. A new report suggests that these high end models may be announced as early as January 28. While the company has not confirmed any such plans, the date has generated interest among users and industry watchers.

The report indicates that the launch could coincide with the release of Apple new Creator Suite subscription. This bundle includes professional tools such as Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro, which are widely used by the same audience that prefers the MacBook Pro. Apple has often introduced professional software and hardware together, making this timing appear logical.

The choice of January 28 is also notable because it falls on a Wednesday, a day Apple has frequently used for product announcements in the past. This has added to the speculation that the company may be planning a broader update rather than a software only release.

Apple began rolling out its M5 MacBook Pro lineup in October 2025 with a single 14 inch model. That version focused on better AI performance, improved graphics, and a more capable Neural Engine. However, the company did not introduce M5 Pro or M5 Max variants at the time, nor did it update the 16 inch model.

If the new launch takes place, it is expected to fill this gap. The updated range could include a 16 inch MacBook Pro with the M5 chip for the first time. It may also bring 14 inch and 16 inch models powered by the M5 Pro and M5 Max chips. These are likely to offer higher CPU and GPU performance without major design changes.

In India, the current 14 inch MacBook Pro with the M5 chip starts at Rs. 1,69,900 and runs macOS Tahoe.

For now, the January 28 date remains a well reasoned estimate based on Apple recent patterns.
