Lufthansa Systems establishes new IT subsidiary in India

Lufthansa Systems has announced the launch of its new Indian subsidiary, Lufthansa Systems India, with its headquarters in Bengaluru. The new entity will play a central role in the company’s Global Capability Center, which has been created in partnership with an Indian IT company. The centre will use advanced technologies, including AI based solutions, to speed up software and product development for the Lufthansa Group and its external airline clients.

Luigi Celmi, managing director of Lufthansa Systems India, said the new subsidiary will strengthen the company’s global operations. He said, “With Lufthansa Systems India, we are laying the groundwork for future ready IT services that combine agility, innovation, and deep aviation expertise. Bengaluru’s dynamic tech ecosystem offers the ideal environment to grow our capabilities and attract top talent.”

With this expansion, Lufthansa Systems now operates in 19 locations across the world. This includes major centres in Gdańsk and Budapest. The company has a global workforce of about 3,100 employees.

Stefanie Neumann, CEO of Lufthansa Systems, said the launch of the new subsidiary aligns with the company’s long term plans to strengthen its global delivery network. She said, “The launch of Lufthansa Systems India is a key step in our global strategy to build a resilient and diversified delivery model. It reflects our commitment to excellence and innovation in aviation IT. We are excited to deepen our partnership with Infosys and expand our impact across the industry.”

The opening of the Indian subsidiary marks an important milestone for the company as it moves toward a more advanced and connected future in aviation technology.
