In a significant move towards blending technology with inclusion, the National Commission for Women (NCW) unveiled Yashoda AI: Your AI SAKHI at Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University in Bareilly on May 22, 2025. This visionary initiative is designed to nurture digital strength among women and ensure their confident presence in an increasingly tech-driven world.
Conceived under the Yashoda AI Abhiyan, this programme seeks to uplift women from rural and semi-urban spaces by immersing them in the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, and Digital Safety. With this, India inches closer to building a Viksit Bharat where women are not just digital learners but digital leaders.
The Yashoda AI campaign is a collaborative effort by the NCW and Future Shift Labs (FSL), merging grassroots outreach with advanced tech learning. The initiative goes beyond typical classrooms by opening space for thoughtful conversations on cyber threats, privacy challenges, and preventive strategies against AI-linked crimes.
From students and teachers to women officers in the police force, the Abhiyan is weaving a fabric of community-led learning where knowledge travels peer to peer, village to town, classroom to control room.
At the launch of Yashoda AI, NCW Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar spoke with conviction, “This campaign is a natural extension of NCW’s work in the areas of cyber awareness, gender justice, and women-led safety innovations.” She emphasised NCW’s dedication to safeguarding women’s rights within digital landscapes.
Yashoda AI is not merely a tool. It is a guide. A friend. A symbol of a rising generation of women who will decode the future, click by click, voice by voice, screen by screen. It brings a poetic promise of inclusion, reminding us that technology must walk hand in hand with empowerment.
