A proud part of the Murugappa Group, TI India brings decades of proficiency in precision steel forming and structural fabrication—having already proven its mettle across critical industries like automotive and heavy machinery. Their entrance into the railway domain reflects a powerful shift toward localising key components of modern transportation.
The alliance kicks off with the manufacturing of prototype sleeper coaches, laying the groundwork for a sustained partnership intended to scale the Vande Bharat Sleeper ecosystem across the country. The initiative aligns perfectly with the vision of a self-sufficient India, reducing reliance on imports while delivering world-class quality.
The Vande Bharat initiative stands as a glowing symbol of Indian Railways’ commitment to next-generation mobility. Introducing sleeper variants to this semi-high-speed marvel will broaden route connectivity and elevate passenger comfort for overnight journeys.
Speaking on the collaboration, Mamta Shah, CEO of Urban Infra Group, remarked that this agreement marks “a milestone in building India’s self-reliant rail ecosystem,” praising its potential to elevate standards of safety, efficiency, and quality in coach manufacturing.
TI India’s entry strengthens the project by ensuring quicker production cycles and sharper quality controls, helping Kinet Railway Solutions stay ahead in timelines and technology.
