Tecno enables most Jio True 5G features across its smartphone lineup

Tecno has announced that it has activated the majority of Reliance Jio’s True 5G network capabilities across its range of smartphones. The company says this move strengthens access to advanced connectivity for users across India. Jio’s 5G network operates on standalone architecture and currently serves more than 234 million unique 5G users.

The enabled features include VoWiFi Dual Pass, Smart Signal Detection for faster network recovery, 5G carrier aggregation with 5G plus and 5G double plus icons, 4G plus 5G dual SIM dual active, mid high band and N28 four by four MIMO, improved weak signal handling using TDD FDD PC2, and enhanced antenna performance for local frequency bands.

Arijeet Talapatra, CEO of Tecno India, said, “At Tecno, we’ve always believed that technology should empower, not exclude. Becoming a smartphone brand to meet Jio True 5G features isn’t just a badge of honour, it’s a step forward in making cutting edge connectivity accessible to every Indian.”

Tecno explained that its devices now include a feature called Tecno Signal Core, designed to offer better connectivity in busy environments. This includes full standalone 5G support, New Radio Carrier Aggregation, and Voice over New Radio. The company has also added Dynamic Slot Aggregation to boost network efficiency and ensure compatibility through support for essential network bands.

Sunil Dutt, president of Reliance Jio, said, “As India accelerates into a 5G driven future, ecosystem partners must align with our vision for a robust, standalone network architecture. Tecno’s comprehensive implementation of our 5G enhancement standards marks a significant step towards that future.” He added, “We value this collaboration as a powerful testament to how seamless integration of device innovation and network excellence can unlock secure, ultra fast, and future ready digital experiences, empowering millions across the nation.”
