Stephanie Fried comes to McAfee from Fandom, where she held the position of Chief Marketing Officer, overseeing marketing strategies for various brands such as TV Guide, Metacritic, and GameSpot. During her tenure, Fandom experienced significant audience growth, reaching over 350 million monthly visitors and enhancing engagement through audience development, consumer insights, and strategic branding.
In her role as Chief Marketing Officer at McAfee, Fried will spearhead global marketing and communication initiatives for the direct-to-consumer brand. Leveraging her skills in building genuine brand connections, she aims to provide greater value and engagement for current McAfee customers while introducing the well-established online safety brand to new global audiences. Fried’s arrival is timely as McAfee seeks to raise awareness of its commitment to consumer protection, moving beyond traditional antivirus solutions to offer a comprehensive suite of privacy, identity, and security services that integrate into consumers’ daily digital experiences. She will report to Craig Boundy, President and CEO of McAfee.
“Stephanie is a dynamic leader with a sharp instinct for what drives brand engagement and business growth,” said Craig Boundy, McAfee CEO. “Her expertise in data-driven marketing, consumer insights, and digital transformation will be critical as we sharpen our focus on delivering the best possible experience for our customers. Her leadership will be instrumental in driving consumer trust, accelerating growth, and making online protection accessible and engaging for everyone. I’m excited to welcome her to the team and confident she will play a key role in shaping the future of McAfee.”
Fried brings 20 years of expertise in marketing, research, and analytics, having served in senior leadership positions at Condé Nast, Discovery Communications, VEVO, and NBC Universal. She has been instrumental in expanding audiences, driving digital transformation, and enhancing brand impact across various sectors. At Condé Nast, she oversaw marketing, research, and analytics for prestigious brands like The New Yorker, Vanity Fair, and Vogue, significantly boosting digital audiences and year-over-year engagement. Before that, she was pivotal in crafting data-driven marketing strategies and audience insights at Discovery Communications, VEVO, and NBC Universal, where she contributed to redefining digital engagement and growth initiatives.
“The need for trusted, innovative online and identity protection has never been greater, and McAfee is uniquely positioned to empower hundreds of millions of people worldwide to live safer digital lives,” said Stephanie Fried, incoming McAfee CMO. “At McAfee, we offer an essential service; everyone who connects online deserves the confidence and assurance to do so without fear of compromising their financial and personal information. I am excited to create lasting connections with new and existing customers by building on McAfee’s incredible legacy and delivering more connected tools and experiences across our full range of B2C products and services.”
