Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on a significant two-day journey to his home state Gujarat, beginning Monday, where he will launch development initiatives totaling over Rs 77,400 crore. This grand unveiling highlights a new chapter of progress for the region, weaving together innovation, infrastructure, and sustainability.
On the first day, PM Modi will inaugurate a cutting-edge locomotive manufacturing facility in Dahod, producing powerful 9,000 HP electric locomotives designed for domestic use and export. These advanced engines, equipped with energy-saving regenerative braking systems, represent a leap toward greener transportation. The Prime Minister will also flag off the newly manufactured electric locomotive from this plant.
Further emphasizing connectivity, PM Modi will launch the Vande Bharat Express train service running between Veraval and Ahmedabad. He will also flag off an express train linking Valsad and Dahod, along with the inauguration of the gauge-converted Katosan-Kalol railway section. A new freight train will also commence its journey from this route, enhancing logistical capabilities.
The journey will continue in Bhuj, where the Prime Minister Modi will oversee the launch of multiple ambitious projects worth over Rs 53,400 crore. These include transmission upgrades to harness renewable energy from the Khavda Renewable Energy Park, expanding transmission networks, and inaugurating an ultra-supercritical thermal power plant unit in Tapi — marking a significant stride toward energy security and sustainability.
On Tuesday, PM Modi will celebrate two decades of the Gujarat Urban Growth Story, commemorating the transformative vision that began in 2005 under his leadership as Chief Minister. This legacy of urban renewal, focusing on infrastructure, governance, and quality of life improvements, will be renewed with the launch of Urban Development Year 2025 and the State Clean Air Programme in Gandhinagar.
During this event, the Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for various projects focused on urban growth, healthcare advancements, and water supply enhancements — reinforcing the state’s commitment to holistic progress.
This monumental visit marks a fusion of past achievements and future aspirations, guiding Gujarat toward a vibrant and sustainable tomorrow.
