ECI Partners welcomes Neal Griffith as its new Chief Financial Officer Designate.
In a significant leadership transition, ECI Partners, the prominent mid-market private equity firm based in London, has welcomed Neal Griffith as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) designate. With this move, the firm prepares for the upcoming retirement of long-serving CFO Philip Shuttleworth, who will step down at the close of the year after nearly three transformative decades at the helm.
Griffith brings a deep reservoir of experience from the private equity world. He joins ECI from the pan-European investment company Equistone Partners Europe, where he held the dual roles of Chief Financial Officer and Chief Risk Officer. His journey at Equistone began in 2017 as Group Financial Controller, a role in which he laid a strong financial foundation. Before that, he sharpened his expertise at BC Partners as Fund Financial Controller, further cementing his reputation in financial leadership across the investment sector.
Commenting on the transition, a spokesperson from ECI highlighted the continuity of vision, stating that this appointment reflects the firm’s commitment to sustaining long-term excellence in financial stewardship and strategic growth.
Operating with a people-first mindset, ECI Partners prides itself on working closely with management teams to accelerate growth journeys. The firm manages assets exceeding £2 billion and focuses on scaling businesses valued up to £300 million, whether as majority or minority stakeholders.
The transition from Shuttleworth to Griffith signals a new era for the firm, one that continues to balance legacy and innovation.
As the fiscal reins change hands, Griffith’s seasoned background in risk, finance, and investment operations positions him as a pivotal player in navigating the evolving landscape of private equity.
