Lenovo Boosts AI Initiatives in India at Tech World 2025

Lenovo has reaffirmed its dedication to India’s significance in the global AI landscape by unveiling plans to enhance AI-driven manufacturing, research and development (R&D), and enterprise solutions at Tech World India 2025. After two decades in the country, Lenovo aims to establish India as a central hub for AI innovation and production, catering to both local and international markets. “We want to use India as a hub for AI,” stated Matthew Zielinski, President of International Markets at Lenovo.

Enhancing AI Manufacturing and Infrastructure

In line with its AI-centric growth strategy, Lenovo India reported the production and export of 12 million units from January to December 2024. The company also revealed intentions to initiate AI server manufacturing in India within this fiscal year, further solidifying the nation’s role in enterprise AI implementation and cloud computing. Moreover, Lenovo launched its first AI-ready personal computer under India’s Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) 2.0 policy, bolstering the country’s status in the global electronics manufacturing arena.

Developing India’s AI Workforce and Business Expansion

With a workforce of over 14,000 in India, Lenovo is committed to investing in local talent and fostering inclusive AI development. More than 30% of its technical staff in the country are women, playing vital roles in R&D across Motorola, the Shared Support Centre, and the Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG) Innovation Labs.

Additionally, the company is utilizing AI-driven logistics to improve customer service, achieving four-hour delivery times across eight Indian markets. These efforts highlight Lenovo’s commitment to leveraging AI for enhanced efficiency and a better customer experience.

AI Innovations Highlighted at Tech World India 2025

Tech World India 2025, themed ‘Smarter AI for All,’ presented Lenovo’s AI-driven solutions designed to boost India’s digital transformation. The event highlighted advanced AI applications in smart devices, transparent displays, and gaming technology, while also addressing responsible AI development and sustainability.

Additionally, the Lenovo AI Now platform was featured, improving computing experiences. Industry leaders engaged in discussions about AI’s impact on education, sustainability, and the development of engineering talent in India.

Shailendra Katyal, Managing Director of Lenovo India, emphasised the company’s dedication to AI-driven innovation, citing a 71% year-on-year revenue increase in the first three quarters of the 2024-25 financial year. He highlighted Lenovo’s efforts to strengthen India’s AI ecosystem, stating, “As Lenovo marks 20 years in India, we remain committed to delivering AI-powered solutions that drive meaningful change and support India’s leadership in AI development.”
