In an effort to make tax filing easier and more accessible, the Income Tax Department has introduced Kar Saathi, a new website designed to reduce stress and improve user experience for taxpayers.
The platform features an AI-powered chatbot that is available at all times to assist users. It also brings together all Income Tax and Direct Tax-related information in one place, making navigation simpler and helping users find answers faster.
Alongside this launch, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has introduced its PRARAMBH initiative. This programme focuses on simplifying tax rules and forms to help individuals and businesses adapt to the Income Tax Act, 2025.
CBDT Chairman Ravi Agrawal highlighted the goal of these updates, stating, “these updates should make compliance easier and are being explained through videos and content in multiple languages so no one’s left out.”
The combined efforts aim to improve tax compliance by making processes clearer, more user-friendly, and accessible to a wider audience.
